Dermatology

Compounding offers a number of advantages for dermatology patients. Working closely with your physician, our compounding pharmacists can prepare customized therapies based on your individual symptoms and needs.

In our state-of-the-art compounding lab we have the ability to offer alternatives to standard dermatological treatments to avoid allergies and reactions, reduce costs, and alter a delivery vehicle or dosage. We can compound medications into gels, lotions, topical creams, or sprays to ease medication administration and reduce side effects. We can also compound oral medications into lozenges or troches.

Compounding can be helpful in creating the right medication for acne, nail fungus, warts, and skin diseases such as actinic keratosis. Small changes in dosage (or delivery method) can have significant effects and drug manufacturers typically market limited strengths of each product. Individualized therapies may increase relief and reduce the length of certain treatments.

Talk with your doctor about whether compounding is right for your dermatological conditions.
