Environmental Exposures

Increasing research shows certain environmental pollutants and chemicals present in the home and work environment may have an impact on reproduction and pregnancy. Scientists and researchers are evaluating the adverse effects of pollutants—such as lead, mercury, and pesticides—and believe that the reproductive system may be sensitive to certain types of exposures.

It is a good idea for women considering pregnancy to take preventative care and help protect themselves and their babies from pollutants and potentially risky chemicals by being informed.
